Toyota TO plant 20,000 trees through arbor day foundation partnership and extend commitment for 2008 (13862)
IRVINE, Calif. – Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU), through its partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, has announced that 20,000 trees – one for every 8-Series lift truck sold in 2007 – will be planted in national forests damaged by fire or other natural causes. The company also announced an expanded commitment to the Foundation in 2008. TMHU will donate one tree for every Toyota lift truck delivered in 2008, which the company estimates to be about 30,000 trees based on 2007 figures.

(Chicago, Ill. - Nov. 6, 2007) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued an information request to River Shannon Recycling for records and descriptions of waste operations at its Riverdale, Ill. facility. A response is due from the company 14 days after receipt of the request.

EPA notifies Dow of clean-air and hazardous waste violations (13390)
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 today notified Dow Chemical Co. that it has found potential clean-air and hazardous waste violations at the company's Midland, Mich., facility. EPA issued a finding of violation under the Clean Air Act and a notice of violation under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. It also issued requests for information under both acts.
